How to Sew a Marquee

When holding an outdoor party, a good marquee seems to be necessary as it is able to provide shade for party guests and workers, as well as hold your food staffs because there is no doubt that you would like to put your all of your food outside in instead of have some of them in your kitchen. While there are plenty of companies that rent party tents, there are still some people prefer to sew their own marquee for it seems a little more economical to do that. But how to make your own marquee? What kind of materials does it need? How much time you have to spend on it?
First, you should find what you need. here is a list for the necessities
Tape measure
PVC pipes and joints
Exterior design fabric
Iron
Sewing machine
When you prepare all the staffs above well, you can begin your work now.
1 Get the accurate statistics of your yard and make a design about where and how to settle your marquee. Measure the area of your yard where you want to place the party tent. Write down the exact measurements.
2 prepare all the necessary materials well according to your desired marquee or party tent. You can get all the staff in a hardware store. If you want a higher roof, you’d better prepare additional pipes.
3 Construct your PVC skeleton for the tent and measure the distances for the roof. Add 6 inches to all edges for sewing sliding pockets.
4 when you finished the above work, here comes the sewing task. You are asked press the edges in order to sew the edges way around. The material for the walls and roofs are always fabric which you can get from a fabric store or a fabric clearance house if you want to get better ones.
5 Feed the PVC pipes through the fabric and place the joints on the ends to make the framework.
6 when add the legs, you have to pay attention that all the legs have to be installed well as they are supposed to be the holder of your marquee or party tent. When all works done, you have your tent ready to enjoy now.
